CALGARY, Apr. 30, 2020 — Tacteris Systems (“Tacteris”) has been awarded a research and development contract under the Innovative Solutions Canada Program, sponsored by Defence Research & Development Canada (DRDC), Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP). The aim is to develop innovative software to support Canada’s diverse community of emergency response agencies.
A technology gap has been identified in tracking, distributing, and managing equipment, supplies, and personnel during emergencies, particularly large-scale incidents requiring multi-agency response.
A technology gap has been identified in tracking, distributing, and managing equipment, supplies, and personnel during emergencies, particularly large-scale incidents requiring multi-agency response.
Tacteris will develop web based design concepts to address the resource logistics challenge. Focus will be on streamlined workflows enabling civilian and government agencies to pool resources during an operation. A secure, on-demand shared resource repository, accessible from any mobile device, will also be developed.
“Never before has the need for sustained and streamlined coordination between different agencies been so critical to safeguarding the health and safety of Canadians,” said Sundeep Kharey, Vice President at Tacteris. “We’re working directly with our nation’s emergency response personnel to understand their needs on the frontlines, and we aim to deliver powerful tools that can provide the decisive advantage during a crisis.” About Tacteris Tacteris is a software engineering firm specializing in the development of elegant software solutions for mission-critical applications. About CSSP and ISC CSSP is an area of expertise managed through Defence Research and Development Canada's (DRDC) Canadian Safety and Security Program (CSSP), in partnership with Public Safety Canada. The CSSP aims to strengthen Canada’s ability to anticipate, prevent/mitigate, prepare for, respond to, and recover from acts of terrorism, crime, natural disasters, and serious accidents through the convergence of Science and Technology (S&T) with policy, operations and intelligence. ISC is a new innovation procurement program modelled closely on the US Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program. It is designed to support Canadian small business scale-up by leveraging a demand-pull approach where participating federal government departments and agencies issue public challenges to small businesses designed around desired outcomes rather than known products or process specifications. In return, the Government will have access to the latest, most innovative products and services. Contact Sundeep Kharey Tacteris 587-316-2008 sales@tacteris.com |
